I have practiced in the DC Metro area for over 34 years . My approach comes from my extensive pre and post graduate education and clinical experience treating children adolescents, and adults in psychodynamic and developmentally oriented psychotherapies. My work with children became further specialized nearly 25 years ago when I started working with a range of special needs groups including adopted , developmentally delayed (DD) , Autistic Spectrum Disordered(ASD) children and their families. I also work extensively with children of divorce and parents.

My view especially of ASD children is that sensory-motor, biological, and experiential factors all play a role. I primarily work with DD & ASD children and families in a “relationship-based” approach as well as help parents manage and coordinate what is often a complex treatment plan. Therefore, I work with infants , pre-school and school age children as early interventions has been shown to so clearly determine optimal results.

I serve on the Faculty (past Co-Chair) of the Washington School of Psychiatry Infant and Young Children Postgraduate Program and Seminar in Washington, DC. I am also on the Advisory Board of the Interdisciplinary Council of Developmental and Learning Disorders(ICDL) as well as a senior faculty member of the DIR Certificate Program & ICDL Doctoral Program in Infant Mental Health. I also enjoy consulting and doing workshops for parents, schools, and other organizations.

In addition, I work with adults in individual psychotherapy and couples for marital therapy. My specialized work with children has led in the last 10+ years to testify as an expert witness and to serve as a parent coordinator in several jurisdictions regarding adoption, attachment issues, custody and visitation for foster children and children of divorce.
